I Am Known and Loved by Jesus is a six-week series helping our preschoolers discover the wonderful truth that they are known, made, loved, forgiven and welcomed by Jesus.
Across the six weeks, we’ll use simple Bible stories, songs, play, movement, sensory activities, crafts and prayer to introduce children to who Jesus is and how much He loves them.
At this age, children learn through repetition, relationships and experience, so we will keep returning to the same simple truths and phrases each week.
As a team, we’re not just delivering activities. The way we welcome a child by name, get down to their level, play alongside them, comfort them, celebrate them and create a safe place for them to belong can all help communicate something of the love of Jesus.
Keep everything short, simple, playful and full of repetition.
Children may not remember every part of the Bible story, but our prayer is that the simple truths they hear begin to take root in their hearts.

Big Truth: Jesus helps me love others.Week 6 – I Belong With Jesus
Jesus Blesses the Children – Mark 10:13–16
Children discover that they matter to Jesus. He welcomes them, wants them to come to Him and makes room for them.
Big Truth: Jesus welcomes me.Be ready to repeat, repeat, repeat! Use simple words, actions and short phrases.
Give children opportunities to move, explore, sing, create and respond rather than expecting them to sit and listen for long periods.
Most importantly, focus on relationship before programme.
A child feeling safe, welcomed and cared for is more important than completing every planned activity.
Follow their engagement, be flexible and enjoy helping them discover Jesus.
Our prayer is that throughout these six weeks, every preschooler begins to experience the love of Jesus and discovers:
Jesus knows me.
God made me wonderfully.
Jesus loves me.
Jesus forgives me.
Jesus helps me love others.
Jesus welcomes me.And above all, that they begin to know:
I am known. I am loved. I belong with Jesus.

I Am Known and Loved by Jesus is a six-week series helping our 5–11s explore what it means to be fully known, deeply loved and welcomed by Jesus.
Across the series, children will explore Bible stories, worship, games, discussion, creative activities and prayer.
We want them not only to know the Big Truth each week, but to begin thinking about what it means for their relationship with Jesus and how it shapes the way they live.
For this age group, encourage questions and conversation.
Give children opportunities to open the Bible, share their thoughts, pray, respond creatively and connect what they are learning with situations at home, school and with their friends.
Our aim isn't simply to give children the right answers, but to help them know Jesus for themselves and grow as His followers.
The Six Weeks
Week 1 – Jesus Knows Me
Zacchaeus – Luke 19:1–10
Children discover that Jesus knows them personally. He knows their name, their interests, their thoughts and their heart.
Big Truth: Jesus knows me completely and loves me completely.Week 2 – God Made Me Unique
God Creates People – Genesis 1:26–31 / Psalm 139:13–16
Children explore how God intentionally created each person with different personalities, abilities and gifts.
Big Truth: God made me unique.Week 3 – Jesus Loves Me
The Lost Sheep – Luke 15:1–7
Children discover that every person matters to Jesus. Like the shepherd searching for the lost sheep, Jesus' love is personal and pursuing.
Big Truth: Jesus loves every person.Week 4 – Jesus Forgives Me
The Paralysed Man – Luke 5:17–26
Children explore how sin affects our relationship with God and discover that Jesus has made forgiveness and restoration possible. We can come to Him, confess when we have done wrong and receive His forgiveness.
Big Truth: When we make mistakes and say sorry to Jesus, He forgives us.Week 5 – Jesus Wants Me to Love Others
The Good Samaritan – Luke 10:25–37
Children discover that being loved by Jesus changes how we treat others. We can notice people, include them, show kindness and practically care for those around us.
Big Truth: Because Jesus loves me, I can love others.Week 6 – I Belong in God’s Family
Jesus Blesses the Children – Mark 10:13–16
Children discover that Jesus welcomes them and wants them to come to Him. Through Jesus, we are invited into God’s family and can help others experience welcome and belonging too.
Big Truth: Everyone belongs with Jesus. There is a big developmental difference between a five-year-old and an eleven-year-old, so keep the same central truth while varying the depth of engagement.
Younger children may need more movement, visual prompts and simple questions, while older children can explore deeper questions, look directly at the Bible passage and consider how they can put the teaching into practice.
Above all, prioritise relationships over programme.
Know the children, listen to them, make space for their questions and model what following Jesus looks like. We want Emmanuel Kids to be a place where every child feels seen, valued, safe and able to belong.
Our prayer is that these six weeks help children move beyond simply knowing facts about Jesus to knowing and trusting Him personally.
We pray that the Holy Spirit will help these truths take root and shape how they see God, themselves and others.
By the end of the series, we want our children to know with growing confidence:
I am known. I am loved. I belong. I am known and loved by Jesus.
